Day 7 – Zurich & The Chocolate Museum! – 23 May 2025

We were off to Zurich after a goodbye meet up with Solvieg, our Eich Airbnb owner.

Reached our Zurich Airbnb by 11.00 AM, but since the check in was at 3 pm, we rented a crate in their basement, stashed our suitcases there and went off to Kilchberg to try and enter the Lindt Chocolate Museum as the online tickets were all sold out.

Waiting to get inside!

We were lucky and we got tickets for 1.00 PM. Shopped at the chocolate shop, ogled at the chocolate fountain in the foyer and finally went up for the self-guided audio tour. It was informative in the first half and then came the sampling and free chocolates—-we were like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory!

What a sugar rush!!

Strolled by the lake for a bit, found a food cart serving yummy food.

Sparrows Met a Few Sparrows in Zurich

Back to Airbnb to check in and rest for a bit.

Our Guruwalk was scheduled at 6:30pm. We reached Burkliplatz on Lake Zurich, the starting point early. At 6.00 PM Lorena messaged she has gotten delayed in office and rescheduled the time and venue. So, we walked along the canal with vibrant cafes and shops on both sides and reached the meeting point. Lorena (if she really was Lorena and not some replacement by the original Lorena!) was a total newbie and wasn’t even a local, so that passion and knowledge was missing.

However, with the help of some written directions on her phone, she did manage to take us by the funicular to the ETH University and University of Zurich with massive impressive buildings and grand views of the city.

Walked down via the Grossmunster, saw the Fraumunster and then via the alleys of the old town, we came up on the castle with a view of the canal below.

A 20 min walk from there and we were back to our Airbnb. Quick dinner and sleep time!

We did more than 22000 steps!!
